Position: Junior Specialized IT Consultant

Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.


About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking a Junior Specialized IT Consultant to support business analysis, requirements gathering, and Agile delivery activities within a complex, public‑sector IT environment.

The successful consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owner, and technical teams to ensure business requirements are clearly documented, well‑understood, and translated into actionable user stories that support successful system delivery.


Scope

  • Lead and facilitate business and requirements‑gathering workshops

  • Support Agile delivery through backlog management and user‑story development

  • Act as a liaison between business users and IT delivery teams

  • Provide analysis, documentation, and communication support across the project lifecycle.


Assignment Deliverables

  • Business requirements documentation and user‑story artefacts

  • Groomed and prioritized product backlog items

  • Acceptance criteria and traceability documentation

  • Workshop outputs, analysis reports, and presentation materials.


Expertise Required

Must Have:

  • Experience leading and facilitating requirements‑gathering workshops with business and technical stakeholders

  • Hands‑on experience working in Agile project environments

  • Experience managing, refining, and grooming Product Backlog Items

  • Ability to break down epics into user stories with defined acceptance criteria

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to assess business needs and priorities

  • Experience collaborating with business users, Product Owners, and IT development teams

  • Experience supporting user testing activities, including planning sessions and documenting findings.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to application prototyping tools (e.g., Axure RP)

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud‑based solutions or workflow‑driven systems

  • Experience preparing business cases, dashboards, metrics, or presentation materials.
