Position: Senior Applications Architect

Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite/Hybrid: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite/Hybrid, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.


About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Architect to provide strategic architectural leadership for enterprise asset management, cloud transformation, application modernization, and systems integration initiatives.

The successful consultant will play a key role in defining enterprise application architectures, leading large-scale technology transformations, and supporting business-critical systems in complex environments. This role requires extensive experience with IBM Maximo, enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, systems integration, software engineering, and stakeholder engagement.


Scope

  • Define and maintain enterprise application architecture strategies, standards, and roadmaps.

  • Lead architecture initiatives supporting enterprise asset management and maintenance operations.

  • Design and document application, integration, infrastructure, and cloud architectures.

  • Provide technical leadership for IBM Maximo implementations, upgrades, integrations, and optimization initiatives.

  • Support enterprise-wide cloud transformation programs, including cloud migration and modernization projects.


Assignment Deliverables

  • Enterprise application architecture designs and recommendations.

  • Functional and technical design documentation.

  • Architecture roadmaps and modernization strategies.

  • Cloud transformation and migration plans.

  • IBM Maximo architecture, configuration, and integration deliverables.


Expertise Required

Must Have:

  • 10+ years hands-on experience in software development, systems engineering, or a similar role along with extensive IT experience in a leadership capacity, gained in a complex technological environment, paired with post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Math (or an equivalent combination of education and experience), certifications.

  •  Experience in a technical advisory or consulting role preferably within utility industry documenting functional and technical designs, configuring applications to support client business processes and associated user stories across the work order life cycle.

  •  Leading major enterprise-wide Cloud transformations, with working knowledge of Cloud adoption, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) software-defined infrastructure and private and public Cloud systems

  • Extensive knowledge & experience in IBM Maximo suite of applications related platform. Consistently refine the Maximo application's functionality, dependability, uptime, performance, eco-friendliness, and security, along with its databases and supplementary tools. Good to be a Maximo super-user

  • Experience with Maximo versions, specifically Maximo 7.6, and a working knowledge of Maximo 9.1. Must be proficient in working on upgrades and development in versions 7.6.1.2 and MAS 9.1. Competency in all Maximo modules and features, including but not limited to Work Order Management, Asset Management, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance, Configuration, Scripting, Report Development, and interfacing Maximo with other systems.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with public sector organizations.

  • IBM Maximo certifications.

  • Cloud architecture certifications.
