Senior Back End - Software Developer

Our Government Client is looking for a Senior Back End - Software Developer to lead the development of secure, scalable cloud-native and enterprise Java applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and a strong background in backend systems development within complex public sector environments.

Job Title: Senior Back End - Software Developer

Job Location: Toronto, ON/Hybrid

Job Description:

Must Haves:

• 10+ years of experience with Java and Java Enterprise (Java EE)

• 3+ years in Cloud-Native application development (PaaS)

• Proficiency in JSON, Spring Framework, Spring Boot

• Strong knowledge of Oracle and SQL databases

• React (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade and cloud-native Java applications

• Utilize Java EE technologies such as JPA, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, and Spring Boot

• Develop secure web applications following OWASP guidelines

• Collaborate across teams to ensure integration with front-end frameworks like React (preferred)

• Apply best practices in coding, testing, and performance optimization

• Support ongoing maintenance and enhancements of existing systems
