Position: Senior Middleware Specialist
Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Middleware Specialist to provide strategic and technical leadership for the migration and modernization of multiple mission-critical enterprise applications from on-premises infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The successful consultant will support a complex portfolio of enterprise applications and middleware platforms, providing expertise across cloud migration, middleware administration, application modernization, DevOps automation, infrastructure optimization, containerization, security integration, operational support, and release management.
Scope
Lead migration planning and execution for mission-critical enterprise applications and middleware platforms to AWS.
Assess and validate application, database, infrastructure, and integration dependencies.
Design and review AWS architectures, including networking, security, storage, compute, monitoring, and disaster recovery components.
Install, configure, administer, tune, and optimize middleware platforms and application servers.
Support cloud-native application deployment, containerization, orchestration, and modernization initiatives.
Assignment Deliverables
Develop AWS migration strategies, migration waves, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
Produce target-state cloud architecture designs and transition documentation.
Configure, administer, and support enterprise middleware platforms, gateways, and application servers.
Implement and maintain automated build, test, deployment, and release pipelines.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Experience with middleware software installation, configuration, tuning, optimization, administration, and application development.
Experience working with middleware technologies and gateways.
Hands-on experience migrating, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications and services using AWS or other cloud platforms.
Experience with DevOps tools such as CodePipeline, CDK/CloudFormation, Kiro, CloudWatch, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies.
Experience supporting web servers and application-tier server environments.
Experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines for build, testing, deployment, and release automation.
Nice to Have:
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Nagios, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Grafana, SiteScope, OpenSearch, and Logstash.
Experience with workload automation tools such as Control-M.
