    We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our Ontario Government client. This role requires expertise in managing data governance and stewardship practices at an enterprise level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in implementing scalable data management strategies and influencing stakeholders at various organizational levels.

    Must Haves:

    • Minimum 6 years’ experience in data/analytics governance or data/information asset management for enterprise-level projects or programs.

    • Proven ability to implement scalable data management practices aligned with enterprise data strategies.

    • Expertise in articulating data management practices to diverse audiences, from Directors to data analysts.

    • In-depth knowledge of data/information management and stewardship models.

    • Strong skills in risk identification, management, and communication with senior executives.

    • Experience in stakeholder engagement, diplomacy, and negotiation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Provincial Health Data and Digital Service (PHDDS) Team to propose and implement a data and information stewardship model.

    • Conduct a comprehensive current state analysis of data governance and information management practices.

    • Inform on enterprise data and information governance frameworks, roadmaps, and templates.

    • Provide subject matter expertise in data management.

    Desired Skills:

    • Act as a technical advisor and provide quality assurance on deliverables.

    • Anticipate and resolve problems, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

    • Develop processes and procedures for implementing data management and governance deliverables.

    • Prepare reports, presentations, and implementation plans.

    • Familiarity with change management principles and Information Management practices.
