    About your future job

    Within the Supportability Engineering Department, we are looking for a Dutch Senior Technical Author with an Electrical background to join the Customer Documentation team. 

    The Supportability Engineering Department – part of the Service Segment - consists of 60 domain experts and is responsible for the definition, development, realization and training of ILS (Integrated Logistic Support) for Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems- (software). The department consists of the following disciplines: Logistics Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Customer Documentation, Customer Training, Obsolescence Management.


    What will you do as a Senior Technical Author - Electrical

    The Customer Documentation Team is responsible for all customer-oriented technical documentation related to our Radar Systems and Command & Control Systems, which are mainly used in the maritime domain. The current team consists of 15 Technical Authors.

    As a Senior Technical Author - Electrical, you develop the technical user documentation for our high-tech products. You collect the technical information, research technical specifications, use the knowledge of specialists from throughout the organization and test the procedures on the actual systems. You write and maintain clear text for the Operator, Maintenance and System Manuals.


    Your responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain customer-oriented technical documentation for complex electrical systems
    • Collect, analyze, and validate technical input from engineers and other specialists
    • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly information
    • Test and verify procedures on real systems to ensure accuracy
    • Lead documentation projects from initial concept through final delivery
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation standards and processes

    Kandidaat Profiel

    Your profile

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Electrical or related technical field
    • Strong electrical engineering background and/or affinity with technology
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technical Author or in a similar role
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Good command of the English language, both spoken and written
    • Proven ability to write accurate, consistent, clear, and concise documentation
    • Experience with or knowledge of Simplified Technical English (STE) is an advantage
    • Experience with S1000D V3.0 and V4.1 Data Modules (DMs) is an advantage
    • Familiarity with structured documentation (XML) and CSDB/CMS environments
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team
    • Flexible mindset and openness to technological developments in the field
    • Structured and analytical way of thinking
    • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to maintain an overall perspective
    • Proactive, stress-resistant, and solution-oriented attitude
    • Comfortable leading documentation projects and coordinating with stakeholders
