The Senior Associate Engineer, IT Lab Support

The Senior Associate Engineer, IT Lab Support is responsible for independently executing laboratory IT engineering activities, including project-related migrations, operational support, and integration initiatives. The role supports the transition and integration of former Merus laboratory IT operations into Genmab standards, ensuring reliable, compliant, and efficient laboratory IT environments. The position involves maintaining laboratory systems, supporting IT security and integration projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and contributing to process optimization and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory IT Operations & Support

• Execute maintenance, support, and lifecycle management activities for former Merus laboratory IT systems.
• Ensure reliable and compliant operation of laboratory equipment, computers, and associated IT infrastructure.
• Provide ongoing operational support for laboratory IT environments and resolve technical issues in accordance with established procedures.

Project Delivery & System Integration

• Independently perform assigned laboratory IT migration, integration, and engineering project activities.
• Support the integration of laboratory IT systems into Genmab standards and operating procedures.
• Participate in upgrades, migrations, implementations, and other IT initiatives aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

IT Security & Compliance

• Conduct activities related to laboratory IT security and integration projects within the engineering domain.
• Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including GLP, GxP, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, including CMDB records, BOPs, Work Instructions (WIs), and related system documentation.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to address laboratory IT operational requirements and technical issues.
• Support communication and coordination across cross-functional teams to ensure successful project and operational outcomes.
• Build effective working relationships within a global environment.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Contribute to the optimization and standardization of laboratory IT engineering processes.
• Gather and analyze operational data to identify risks, performance trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and present project updates, results, findings, and status reports during team and project meetings.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT engineering, system support, or related technical roles.
• Experience working within laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other regulated environments is preferred.
• Proven experience supporting IT projects, solution delivery, system migrations, and operational IT processes.

Technical Knowledge

• Foundational knowledge of laboratory IT systems and relevant IT technologies.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry standards such as GLP, GxP, and GDPR.
• Familiarity with IT asset management, lifecycle management, system documentation, and IT operations.
