What we need from you

·      Minimum 3-4 years Google Cloud Platform project experience.

·      Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataprep, Cloud Storage and other ETL and Data Engineering tools available in GCP.

·      Experience in designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and workflow and scheduling tools both in batch and real-time modes.

·      Experience in working with complex data types.

·      Experience in automating the development, testing and deployment of the data pipelines (CI/CD) and working in a DataOps environment.

·      Experience building and maintaining ELT/ETL frameworks.

Role

As a Google Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures on the Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, accuracy, and timeliness of the organisation's data. Understand complex information systems and design effective data solutions and models to store and retrieve departmental data in adherence to enterprise standards. Drive Stakeholder workshops to identify client requirements and conceptualise and communicate these requirements via visual aids such as Data models. Lead and champion designs including Data Integration Designs, Data Structures, Data Flows, Solution Architectures, Design Standards, Data Strategies to both business executive as well as to technical staff. Recommend solutions and patterns for improving processes in existing or new systems/capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

·      The Google Senior Cloud Data Engineer will be responsible for translating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design, developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data storage solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

·      Demonstrated ability to lead a team of developers and data engineers in building effective data products.

·      Data Management artefacts including Data Strategies, business glossaries, business rules, data quality, governance principles, stakeholder engagements and presentation/showcases.

·      Coordinating concurrent releases as part of a hybrid Scaled Agile / Waterfall delivery process within a large organisation

·      Work across various delivery methodologies (ITIL, Agile, SAFe etc.) and ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.

Highly desirable skills:

·      Solid Understanding of structured query language (SQL) and strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

·      Experience with physical data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL development and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

·      Knowledge of SQL databases for data warehouse such as Teradata, BigQuery, Snowflake, Oracle Exadata, Azure Synapse and newer SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with BigQuery is preferrable however having at least one from the above could also be considered and strong communication and collaboration skills including working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

·      GCP Data Engineer certification highly desirable
