Assistant Mechanical Detailer

Akkodis is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Detailer for a Contract job with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate must have strong hands‑on experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation and the ability to develop detailed engineering drawings from sketches and engineering inputs.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $35/hour (W2); The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Assistant Mechanical Detailer job responsibilities include:

• Assist in preparing detailed engineering drawings using information from sketches, engineering notes, and verbal instructions under engineer guidance.

• Develop and modify 2D and 3D design models using tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.

• Apply company, client, and project drafting standards to create schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment connection drawings.

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and designers to verify design accuracy and resolve drawing issues.

• Perform drafting activities including layout, detailing, problem analysis, and revision updates across multiple project types.

• Execute design changes and drawing revisions, maintaining up‑to‑date documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting Technology or related field with 2+ years of experience, OR

• Associate Degree with 3+ years of experience, OR

• High School Diploma with 4+ years of progressive detailing/design experience.

• Strong experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work with both 2D and 3D design applications.

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles, design calculations, and design systems.

• Strong collaboration skills to work in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new design software and tools.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
