Application Tool Programmer

Akkodis is seeking an Application Tool Programmer for a Contract with a client in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate is responsible for identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities using industry standards while partnering with development and product teams to drive effective remediation and strengthen enterprise security posture.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Application Tool Programmer Job Responsibilities include:

• Conduct penetration testing and security assessments across web, mobile, thick client, and instrumented/network‑connected applications.

• Identify, analyze, and prioritize security vulnerabilities using standards such as OWASP Top 10, CVSS, and organizational security guidelines.

• Produce detailed, criticality‑based vulnerability reports and provide remediation guidance to development and application teams.

• Perform vulnerability scanning and configuration assessments using tools such as Nessus and Tenable.SC.

• Provide operational and administrative support for SAST, DAST, SCA, and vulnerability management platforms, including analytics and reporting through Power BI.

• Collaborate closely with application, product, and engineering teams to support remediation, improve security posture, and ensure secure application delivery.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in application security, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing.

• Proven expertise in conducting web, mobile, thick client, and network penetration testing using industry standards (OWASP Top 10, CVSS) and tools such as Nessus/Tenable, WhiteHat, Black Duck, and SAST platforms.

• Strong ability to produce criticality‑based security reports, support remediation efforts, and collaborate effectively with development, product, and infrastructure teams in enterprise or regulated environments.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $60.00 per hour
