Cloud Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a Contract with a client in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate is responsible for building, automating, and maintaining scalable cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines while ensuring secure networking and access control across AWS services.

Rate Range: $65/hour to $72/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Cloud Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure using services like EKS, EC2, S3, and Landing Zone.

• Develop and maintain CloudFormation templates and automate deployments through CI/CD pipelines.

• Configure and manage AWS networking components including VPC, Route53, Security Groups, and PrivateLink.

• Implement secure authentication and authorization using IAM roles, policies, SCP, and KMS.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support cloud-based applications and platform services in production environments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using tools like Jenkins, Git, ServiceNow, and Jira to ensure efficient delivery and operations.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure in an enterprise environment.

• Strong expertise in AWS services such as EKS, EC2, S3, CloudFormation, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Git.

• Solid understanding of AWS networking, security (IAM, KMS, SCP), and experience supporting cloud-based platform operations.

Pay Details: $64.00 to $72.00 per hour
