Data Scientist Senior

Akkodis is seeking a Data Scientist Senior for a Contract with a client in McLean, VA. This role involves building and testing predictive models, performing back‑testing and stress testing, and providing analytical support for business and risk decision-making.

Rate Range: $80/hour to $85/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Scientist Senior Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop and enhance statistical models to analyze house price trends and mortgage collateral data.

• Conduct research and improve existing models using advanced quantitative and predictive modeling techniques.

• Implement models in programming languages (Python, R, SAS, etc.) and support software-based model deployment.

• Perform model testing, including back-testing, stress testing, and performance monitoring to ensure accuracy.

• Provide analytical and modeling support to business lines, acting as a technical subject matter expert.

• Prepare detailed model documentation to support governance, validation, and regulatory review processes.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in quantitative finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related field (PhD preferred).

• 5+ years of modeling experience with at least 3 years in model development and testing.

• Strong experience in predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and working with large datasets.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, or SQL, with experience in model implementation and validation.

Pay Details: $80.00 to $85.00 per hour
