Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Dallas, TX/ Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate with deep expertise in building secure, high‑performance API proxies on Google Cloud’s Apigee platform.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Developer job responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and configure API proxies to integrate backend services with client applications using Apigee Edge/X.

• Implement and manage security and traffic policies including OAuth, API keys, rate limiting, throttling, and caching.

• Oversee the full API lifecycle—development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.

• Manage and enhance developer portals to support API documentation, registration, and testing for API consumers.

• Use Apigee trace and analytics tools to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and analyze traffic patterns.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure API standards, performance, and security compliance.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 8–10 years of overall experience, with strong hands‑on expertise in Apigee Edge or Apigee X.

• Proven ability to design and implement secure RESTful APIs with strong understanding of OAuth, API keys, and traffic management policies.

• Experience managing full API lifecycle activities—including development, deployment, monitoring, and optimization—within enterprise‑scale environments.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $49.00 per hour
