Drafter/Modeler

Akkodis is seeking a Drafter/Modeler for a Contract with a client in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in SolidWorks and able to hit the ground running, creating concept and production-level drawings under tight timelines.

Rate Range: $45/Hour to $50/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Drafter/Modeler Job Responsibilities include:

• Create concept and production-level drawings in SolidWorks for retail fixture designs within tight project timelines.

• Translate existing 3D models and competitor concept drawings into detailed, manufacturable documentation.

• Collaborate closely with production teams to iterate designs based on real-time feedback and build challenges.

• Utilize PDM systems and internal drawing libraries to manage, revise, and standardize design outputs.

• Support high-volume project demands by delivering accurate drawings across 40–50+ SKUs.

• Work cross-functionally with drafting managers and team members to ensure consistency, quality, and on-time delivery.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 5+ years of hands-on drafting/design experience, preferably in a fast-paced production environment.

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including creating and modifying both concept and production-level drawings.

• Strong background in architectural drafting or retail fixture design, with the ability to quickly adapt and work within tight deadlines.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
