Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an EMech Engineer for a Contract with a client in Naperville, IL. The ideal candidate is responsible for fabricating, modifying, and assembling mechanical components using manual machining equipment to support prototype builds and testing.

Rate Range: $28/hour to $30/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

EMech Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Operate manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and saws to fabricate, modify, and repair mechanical parts.

  • Support engineering prototype builds by assisting with assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and iterative modifications.

  • Assemble and disassemble mechanical or telecom hardware by following written instructions, drawings, and engineering guidance.

  • Use hand tools efficiently to remove and reinstall fasteners, cables, covers, and mechanical components.

  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a lab or shop environment to meet build and testing objectives.

  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace while following manufacturing processes, quality practices, and safety standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, vocational certification, or technical training in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related trade preferred.

  • 6–8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, prototype support, or machine shop operations.

  • Proven experience operating manual machining equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, saws) with strong mechanical aptitude and hand-tool proficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical or telecom hardware while supporting engineering builds, testing, and troubleshooting in a lab or shop environment.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
