Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Full Stack Product Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate must have strong experience across modern JavaScript frameworks and Java-based backend systems, with expertise in building scalable, secure applications using a microservices architecture.
Rate Range: $72/hour to $74/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Full Stack Product Engineer job responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using ReactJS/Next.js on the frontend and Node.js/Java on the backend.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support scalable enterprise applications.
Perform code reviews and enforce best practices, ensuring high-quality and secure code.
Lead efforts to upgrade frameworks, libraries, and Node.js versions, resolving vulnerabilities and technical debt.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Architects, DBAs) to design and deliver business solutions.
Provide production support, troubleshooting, and system performance optimization.
Desired Qualifications:
6–8 years of experience in full stack software development.
Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, ReactJS, and Next.js.
Experience with Java (8+) and Spring Boot for backend/microservices development.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
Familiarity with Gradle and testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Jest).
Proven ability to manage dependency upgrades and security vulnerability remediation.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Pay Details: $72.00 to $74.00 per hour
