Akkodis is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Carson, CA. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in industrialization of aerospace products, including electrical manufacturing environments, NPI (New Product Introduction), PFMEA, capability studies, and troubleshooting, along with proven project management skills.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour (W2); The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Industrial Engineer job responsibilities include:
Lead industrialization activities for new aerospace programs, including NPI project execution and manufacturing readiness.
Develop and execute industrialization plans, including capacity studies, capability studies, PFMEA, VSM, and run-at-rate validation.
Create and manage Manufacturing BOMs, routings, standardized work instructions, and production documentation.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and tooling teams to optimize DFMA (Design for Manufacturability & Assembly).
Establish production line setups, cycle time, takt time, and process flow improvements.
Manage and communicate project timelines, risks, and KPIs, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-efficient production.
Lead and participate in Lean initiatives such as Kaizen events, 3P workshops, and continuous improvement activities.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Level 2: 4–5 years of experience OR
Level 3: 6+ years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing environments.
Strong experience with project management, NPI projects, PFMEA, VSM, and capacity/capability studies.
Experience setting up and improving manufacturing lines and processes.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, standardized work).
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with AutoCAD and design software.
Preferred:
Aerospace manufacturing experience (CNC machining, composites, layup, crush core)
Knowledge of airworthiness regulations
Experience with pull systems and advanced Lean techniques
Exposure to electrical manufacturing environments

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
