Mainframe and AS400 Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe and AS400 Developer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and supporting business‑critical enterprise applications on legacy platforms.

Rate Range: $60/Hour to $64/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mainframe and AS400 Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications on Mainframe and IBM AS400/iSeries platforms.

• Write, test, and support programs using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CL, RPG, and related technologies.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

• Perform debugging, testing, and provide production support for business‑critical systems.

• Manage batch processing, job scheduling, and file/data integration workflows.

• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to support upgrades, performance tuning, and incident resolution.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe application development and support.

• Strong hands‑on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and batch processing environments.

• Experience with IBM AS400/iSeries technologies, production support, and performance tuning of business‑critical systems.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
