Mainframe Software Developer (COBOL)

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Software Developer (COBOL) for a Contract with a client in Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and modernizing Recall Suite applications while ensuring reliable production operations.

Rate Range: $60/Hour to $70/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mainframe Software Developer (COBOL) Job Responsibilities include:

• Serve as the primary mainframe developer supporting Recall Suite applications and related products.

• Provide on‑call and production support, troubleshooting incidents and resolving defects.

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe components using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and batch/real‑time processing.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and engineers to deliver features and manage the product backlog.

• Support application modernization initiatives, including integrations and migration efforts to Google Cloud Platform.

• Perform unit and integration testing while ensuring compliance with security, audit, and support standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 7+ years of mainframe development experience.

• Strong hands‑on expertise with COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, and batch/real‑time mainframe processing.

• Experience supporting production systems and participating in application modernization, with exposure to APIs and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
