Platform Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Platform Software Engineer for a Direct hire with a client in Rochester, NY (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will lead customer-facing technical engagements while designing, customizing, and delivering scalable platform features and integrations end-to-end.

Salary Range: $175K/Yearly to $200K/Yearly; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Platform Software Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Act as the primary technical interface for customers and partners, leading requirements gathering, architecture discussions, and solution design.

• Design, develop, and customize platform features using Python, Django, React, and REST APIs.

• Build and manage scalable cloud integrations leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of customer-specific solutions, including integrations, UI components, and application-layer enhancements.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide Tier-3 support, and drive root-cause analysis and improvements.

• Create and maintain API documentation, interface designs, and integration workflows while mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with hands-on expertise in Python, Django, React, and AWS.

• Strong experience in customer-facing engineering roles, including solution design, integrations, and developer support.

• Proven ability to design and implement scalable API-driven systems and lead end-to-end platform customization and delivery.
