Akkodis is seeking a Powertrain Controls Engineer (OBD) for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining diagnostic solutions for next-generation hybrid powertrain systems to meet regulatory requirements.
Rate Range: $34/hour to $36/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Powertrain Controls Engineer (OBD) Job Responsibilities include:
Develop, validate, and maintain OBD diagnostic solutions for hybrid powertrain systems to meet global regulatory requirements.
Analyze and interpret system data using tools like MATLAB/Simulink to support diagnostics and control strategy validation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, calibration, and testing activities.
Perform data acquisition, analysis, and validation to ensure diagnostic accuracy and system performance.
Support software testing, including HIL/SIL validation, to ensure reliability and compliance of diagnostic systems.
Document findings, track issues using tools like Jira, and contribute to continuous improvement of diagnostic strategies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (master’s preferred).
2+ years of experience in automotive product development, preferably in hybrid powertrain diagnostics.
Strong knowledge of OBD diagnostics, control systems, and ability to analyze C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink models for validation purposes.
Hands-on experience with data acquisition, testing (HIL/SIL), and calibration, with a solid understanding of hybrid powertrain systems and diagnostic protocols.

Pay Details: $34.00 to $36.00 per hour
