R&D Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a R&D Engineer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will support medical device regulatory compliance by coordinating external compliance testing, developing test plans and reports, and managing controlled documentation.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

R&D Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and manage medical device compliance testing with external test houses to ensure regulatory conformance.

• Develop, maintain, and execute compliance test plans and author detailed test reports.

• Release, track, and maintain regulatory and compliance documentation within the document control system.

• Monitor and analyze changes to applicable standards and regulations and assess their impact on products.

• Perform regulatory and compliance impact assessments for new designs and changes to existing products.

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, and external laboratories to resolve compliance issues and support product approvals.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred.

• 5–7 years of experience in medical device compliance testing (3–5 years considered with strong hands‑on experience).

• Proven experience working with regulatory standards and coordinating compliance testing with external test laboratories.

• Strong background in compliance documentation, test plan/report development, and regulatory impact assessments for medical devices.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
