R&D Technology Manager

Akkodis is seeking an R&D Technology Manager for a Contract job with a client in South Bloomfield, CT. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in mechanical product design and new product introduction (NPI), along with hands‑on expertise in PTC Creo and Windchill PLM systems.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

R&D Technology Manager job responsibilities include:

• Lead design, development, and implementation of mechanical engineering programs, ensuring alignment with cost, performance, and reliability targets.

• Create and analyze product designs, including 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using PTC Creo/Windchill.

• Support and manage engineering change orders (ECNs/ICNs) to ensure seamless integration into production.

• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth transition from design to manufacturing.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, drawings, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.

• Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering problems and implement innovative solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering product development.

• Strong expertise in PTC Creo (or equivalent CAD tools) and Windchill PLM systems.

• Experience with sheet metal design, enclosures, and busbar systems.

• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM), cost optimization, and product lifecycle management.

• Proven experience leading NPI projects in manufacturing environments.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
