Senior MySQL DBA (MySQL/Redis)

Akkodis is seeking a Senior MySQL DBA (MySQL/Redis) for a Direct hire with a client in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring high availability of MySQL and Redis environments in production systems.

Salary Range: $140K/Yearly to $180K/Yearly; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior MySQL DBA (MySQL/Redis) Job Responsibilities include:

• Manage and optimize MySQL and Redis clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability in production environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues such as slow queries, replication lag, and system bottlenecks.

• Perform SQL optimization, index tuning, and execution plan analysis to improve database efficiency.

• Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.

• Monitor database health using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, enhancing alerting and performance tracking.

• Develop automation scripts and support incident response processes to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in MySQL database administration and production operations.

• Fluent in spoken Mandarin and written Chinese; ability to read, write, and communicate professionally in Chinese is required.

• Strong expertise in MySQL replication, high availability architectures, and SQL performance tuning with InnoDB.

• Hands-on experience managing Redis in production environments, along with strong troubleshooting, automation (Shell/Python), and monitoring skills.
