Software Design Release Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Software Design Release Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading integration, validation, and delivery of gateway software across next‑generation vehicle architectures.

Rate Range: $45/Hour to $55/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Design Release Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead the integration, validation, and delivery of ECG gateway software across next‑generation vehicle architectures (FNV2/FNV3), ensuring alignment with program timelines and requirements.

• Coordinate with internal development teams, program management, and BTP suppliers to drive on‑time, high‑quality software delivery.

• Support vehicles launch activities by troubleshooting, flashing, testing, and validating ECG software at system and vehicle levels.

• Apply Agile practices to manage risks, track progress, and continuously improve software delivery and integration processes.

• Leverage connected vehicle data and diagnostics to support data‑driven problem solving and quality improvements.

• Proactively identify and mitigate software integration risks, escalating critical issues to ensure successful launches and post‑launch stability.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in automotive software development, software integration, or Systems/Design Release engineering.

• Hands-on experience with automotive embedded systems, vehicle electrical architectures and software integration with Tier‑1/Tier‑2 suppliers.

• Strong working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet), Agile tools (Jira, GitHub), and ability to support vehicle launch, validation, and on‑site troubleshooting activities.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour
