We’re seeking an experienced Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer to lead quality and compliance initiatives in a railroad manufacturing and maintenance environment. This role drives data‑driven quality improvements and ensures compliance with AAR, FRA, and company standards.

Location: Waterford, MI (Relocation Considered)
Terms: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: $106,000–$142,000 - The salary may be negotiable based on education, experience, geographic location and other factors

We’re seeking an experienced Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer to lead quality and compliance initiatives in a railroad manufacturing and maintenance environment. This role drives data‑driven quality improvements and ensures compliance with AAR, FRA, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Perform process and product audits aligned to QA metrics

  • Ensure compliance with AAR (M‑1003), FRA, and Interchange Rules

  • Partner cross‑functionally to resolve quality issues

  • Provide technical leadership to internal teams and suppliers

  • Support fabrication sales, design reviews, and customer requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

  • 12+ years of railroad QA/QC experience

  • Strong audit, communication, and problem‑solving skills

  • Ability to work in industrial/railroad environments (climb in/under railcars)
