Sr Mechanical Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will design and develop advanced aerospace components and systems in collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams throughout the full product lifecycle.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $59/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Sr Mechanical Design Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop aerospace products and systems using CAD‑based modeling in a collaborative engineering environment.

• Participate in all phases of product development, from concept through detailed design and release.

• Perform engineering analysis, weight optimization, and design for manufacturability and cost.

• Create and review detailed engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to solve complex design challenges for engines or APUs.

• Present design concepts and incorporate Voice of Customer inputs into product solutions.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.

• Minimum 6+ years of mechanical design and engineering experience.

• Strong hands-on expertise with NX and Teamcenter, including ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

• Proven experience in engine or APU design with focus on CAD modeling, manufacturability, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $59.00 per hour
