Sr. Network Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for a Contract with a client in Frederick, MD. The candidate is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-wide LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud network infrastructures to ensure performance, security, and scalability.

Rate Range: $44/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Sr. Network Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-scale LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud networking solutions to ensure high performance and scalability.

• Configure, manage, and support network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and proxy servers.

• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and security.

• Lead infrastructure upgrades, patching, and security hardening across on-premise and cloud environments.

• Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect enterprise data and systems from threats.

• Provide Level 2/3 support, act as an escalation point, document network changes, and mentor junior engineers.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and enterprise infrastructure management.

• Strong expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, QoS) with hands-on experience using enterprise platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto.

• Proven experience with cloud and hybrid networking environments (AWS and/or Azure), along with strong network security and troubleshooting skills.

Pay Details: $44.00 to $45.00 per hour
