Systems Controls Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Systems Controls Engineer for a Contract with a client in Sterling Heights, MI. The ideal candidate will lead controls engineering improvements by troubleshooting automation, robotics, and equipment performance issues while ensuring efficient system integration and uptime.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Systems Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot and resolve controls, automation, and robotics issues to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.

• Develop, program, and implement PLC systems (Siemens/Allen-Bradley) for new installations and process improvements.

• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address equipment and system failures.

• Monitor and optimize production performance using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data and cycle time analysis.

• Support integration of control systems into IT platforms and maintain program backups for machinery and automation.

• Assist with training plant personnel, support project installations, and ensure compliance with safety and risk assessment standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree in electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering preferred.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or manufacturing environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting robotics/automation systems.

• Proven experience in root cause analysis, equipment performance improvement, and integration of control systems with IT platforms.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
