    Role Summary

    The Project Engineer (Electrical) will be responsible for delivering the Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) Project. Reporting to the Manager Major Works, the role will work closely with site operations, engineering, procurement, and legal teams to ensure the project is effectively scoped, planned, managed, and delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

    The position requires strong stakeholder engagement across multiple business units while ensuring compliance with project delivery frameworks and providing regular progress updates to senior management and the Project Management Office.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of the 22kV OHTL project in line with established project management frameworks.
    • Collaborate with site leadership and key stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, risk plans, and deliverables.
    • Manage contractors, procurement activities, and project documentation to ensure quality and value from project partners.
    • Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and cost control to ensure financial targets are met.
    • Maintain accurate project schedules, documentation, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Engage and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and resource availability.
    • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.

     

    Required Skills & Experience

    Technical Capabilities & Experience

    • Extensive experience in Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL), project management, or operations and maintenance within the energy, resources, or similar industries.
    • Proven experience delivering complex, multi-stage capital projects.
    • Strong contractor management, project documentation, and reporting skills.
    • Demonstrated experience in project planning, cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
    • Experience working with Project Management Offices (PMO) and developing detailed project and risk management plans.
    • Strong technical capability using MS Project, SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and Enterprise Asset Management tools.
    • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and operational priorities.

    Qualifications & Clearance

    • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Commerce, or similar discipline.
    • Project Management certification (PMP®, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar) – desirable.
