The Opportunity

 

Our client, a major federal government organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to support the design, enhancement and delivery of complex ICT systems that underpin services used by millions of Australians.

The Role

Working under limited direction, you will translate business requirements into ICT system specifications, design and document solutions, and support delivery across the system lifecycle.

You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and delivery partners to ensure solutions meet business expectations, architectural standards and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and evaluate business processes and requirements
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
• Design and document ICT solutions for new and existing systems
• Produce and maintain solution and requirements documentation
• Support testing activities including planning, execution and defect management
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments, cost analysis and risk evaluation
• Contribute to delivery improvements and continuous improvement initiatives

What You’ll Need

 

Essential

• Experience working with waterfall and agile methodologies
• Experience in government or large‑scale enterprise environments
• Strong documentation skills (User Specs, Functional Specs, RTM)
• Stakeholder management and communication skills
• User story and requirements analysis experience
• SQL skills
• Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
