Position: Intermediate Front End - Software Developer
Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Intermediate Front End - Software Developer to support the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of modern enterprise web applications.
The successful consultant will have current, hands-on development experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, HTML5 and CSS, along with working knowledge of Jamstack architecture.
The role requires strong experience developing responsive and accessible web applications, front-end testing and debugging, page-load optimization, version control, and working collaboratively within large enterprise development teams.
Scope
Design, develop and implement modern front-end applications and effective user interfaces.
Develop responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
Develop and support solutions using Node.js and Next.js.
Build, integrate and test RESTful APIs and web services.
Apply Jamstack architecture principles to modern web application development.
Assignment Deliverables
Design and develop responsive, accessible and user-friendly front-end applications.
Develop reusable front-end components using React and TypeScript.
Develop and maintain applications utilizing Node.js and Next.js.
Build, integrate and test RESTful APIs.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Current, hands-on front-end software development experience.
Hands-on experience developing applications using React and TypeScript.
Experience with Node.js and Next.js.
Experience building, integrating and testing RESTful APIs/web services.
Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
Hands-on experience with responsive web application design and development.
Experience with page-load and web application performance optimization.
Experience working within large organizations and large development teams.
1+ years of Java development experience.
Nice to Have:
Experience with programming Internet-ready applications.
Knowledge of Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts and practices.
