Position: Senior Applications Architect
Duration: 5 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite/Hybrid: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

This position is provisionally Onsite/Hybrid, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Architect to provide leadership in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of enterprise application architectures within large and complex technology environments.
The successful consultant will be responsible for defining application architecture strategies, establishing integration patterns, producing architecture deliverables, and supporting enterprise-wide technology initiatives. This role requires extensive experience in systems analysis, application architecture, cloud integration, enterprise solutions, middleware technologies, and architecture.
Working closely with business stakeholders, solution teams, infrastructure specialists, security experts, and project teams, the consultant will define current-state and future-state architectures while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, best practices, and strategic objectives.
Scope
Develop target-state application architectures, architecture roadmaps, and transition strategies.
Create current-state ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") architecture models and blueprints.
Analyze business and technical requirements to develop scalable enterprise solutions.
Design application integration patterns utilizing APIs, SOA, web services, middleware, and messaging technologies.
Support cloud and hybrid architecture initiatives, including integration between on-premises and cloud environments.
Assignment Deliverables
Current-state and target-state architecture documentation.
Technical architecture blueprints and solution designs.
Application integration architecture and interface specifications.
Cloud and hybrid architecture recommendations.
Architecture and compliance assessments.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Experience in the development and implementation of application architectures for a minimum 6 years.
Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments
Knowledge of TOGAF ADM (preferred) or Zachman architecture frameworks including business / information / application / technology / security architecture domains
Practical experience in at least one of current architecture tools e.g. EA Sparx, Archi or similar with the modeling experience with Archimate and/or UML in a team environment
Experience and knowledge of different integration types including SOA, APIs, web services, real time and batch based, hub and spoke; experience in enterprise service bus implementations.
Nice to Have:
Experience leading multi-tier application infrastructure initiatives.
Experience with workflow automation and dynamic forms solutions.
Experience developing enterprise architecture models and documentation.
