Position: Senior Automation Developer
Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Developer to support a high-profile enterprise technology initiative within a large and complex organization.
The successful consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated testing solutions across web applications, APIs, and performance testing frameworks. The consultant will work closely with QA analysts, developers, business stakeholders, and project teams to improve software quality, accelerate delivery cycles, and drive automation best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Scope
Identify opportunities for automation within software development and testing processes.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web, API, and performance testing.
Create and execute automated QA test scripts to validate application functionality and performance.
Develop reusable test automation frameworks and supporting utilities.
Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, and stakeholders to resolve defects and improve testing coverage.
Assignment Deliverables
Automated test scripts for UI, API, and performance testing.
Reusable automation framework components and libraries.
Test execution reports and defect tracking documentation.
CI/CD-integrated automated testing solutions.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Strong hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as:
o Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or WebDriverIO (UI Testing)
o Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI (API Testing)
o JMeter or Gatling (Performance Testing)
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
Solid understanding of test frameworks including TestNG, JUnit, or Mocha.
Experience working with BDD tools such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
Deep knowledge of software testing lifecycle (STLC) and QA methodologies, including:
o Functional Testing
o Regression Testing
o Integration Testing
o System Testing
o Smoke Testing
o Exploratory Testing
Experience developing data-driven, keyword-driven, or hybrid automation frameworks.
Nice to Have:
Experience testing large-scale enterprise applications.
Experience with cloud-based application testing and DevOps practices.
Experience contributing to automation strategy and framework architecture.
