Position: Senior Back End - Software Developer
Duration: 9 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Back End - Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of large-scale enterprise digital services. The successful consultant will play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and supporting mission-critical applications while ensuring compliance with accessibility, security, and industry standards.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced software development professional with expertise in modern web technologies, microservices architecture, RESTful services, secure application development, enterprise databases, and accessibility-compliant solutions.
Scope
Design, develop, test, and maintain large-scale enterprise applications.
Develop and support server-side business logic and database integrations.
Translate technical and business requirements into scalable software solutions.
Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices-based applications.
Integrate front-end and back-end components to deliver seamless user experiences.
Assignment Deliverables
Technical specifications and design documentation.
Unit testing and defect resolution artifacts.
Accessibility compliance validation and remediation documentation.
Deployment and implementation support documentation.
Knowledge transfer and operational support materials.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
10+ years of Java development experience.
Extensive experience in modern web frameworks technology stack: React, JavaScript (JS), NextJS, Node, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Restful APIs.
10+ years of experience developing large-scale multi-client web applications.
Strong experience working with Oracle and/or SQL databases.
Minimum 5 years of experience developing REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.
Experience with Azure DevOps.
10+ years of experience delivering applications compliant with:
PCI Standards
WCAG 2.2 Standards
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
Experience using:
JAWS
WAI-ARIA
HTML5 Accessibility Standards
Nice to Have:
Experience with middleware and enterprise integration gateways.
Experience supporting public sector digital service initiatives.
Security Clearance
Required.
