    Position: Senior Database Administrator

    Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
    Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
    Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

    This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

    About the Engagement

    Akkodis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to provide expert-level support across complex enterprise database environments. This role includes advanced administration of Oracle, Microsoft Azure SQL, Synapse, and Mainframe IMS/DB2 databases, as well as support for data replication, performance tuning, and large‑scale system changes. The consultant will collaborate with developers, application support, infrastructure teams, and data management groups to ensure secure, stable, and high‑performance database operations across multiple environments.

    Scope

    • Participate in reviewing project and maintenance artifacts (Use Cases, SRS, etc.).

    • Prepare and implement database changes in accordance with approved design specifications.

    • Promote database changes across environments (DEV → INT → QA → UAT → PROD).

    • Install, configure, and patch operating systems and database technologies.

    Assignment Deliverables

    • Reviewed and approved project/maintenance documentation (Use Cases, SRS, technical designs).

    • Fully implemented and validated database changes across all environments.

    • Installation and configuration packages for OS, databases, and patches.

    • Performance‑tuned database environments with documented tuning outcomes.

    Expertise Required

    Must Have:

    • Expert experience with Oracle and Microsoft Azure SQL administration.

    • Hands‑on experience with Azure technologies (storage accounts, file shares, Key Vault, monitoring).

    • Strong experience with database development (PL/SQL, stored procedures).

    • Experience with Oracle and Azure database replication.

    Nice to Have:

    • Exposure to enterprise‑scale data migration and modernization initiatives.

    • Experience in public‑sector or large multi‑environment infrastructure.
