Position: Senior Software Developer
Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support the design, development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale enterprise web applications.
The role requires strong knowledge of microservices architecture, object-oriented development, Agile methodologies, security protocols, relational databases and enterprise application development, combined with the ability to translate technical specifications into secure, scalable, maintainable and fully tested applications.
Scope
Design, develop, test, implement and maintain large-scale enterprise web applications.
Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications.
Develop detailed programming specifications and high-quality application code.
Design and develop REST APIs, RESTful Web Services and microservices-based application components.
Perform unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting and application maintenance.
Assignment Deliverables
Develop and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Oracle/SQL and RESTful technologies.
Translate technical specifications into working, tested and maintainable application components.
Design, develop and integrate REST APIs, RESTful Web Services and microservices.
Produce detailed programming specifications and reusable, maintainable application code.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
10+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-client web applications.
10+ years of hands-on Java development experience with Oracle and/or SQL databases.
5+ years of hands-on experience with REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.
Strong knowledge and experience with microservices architecture and the application of architectural principles to improve product extensibility and maintainability.
Strong object-oriented coding practices, including design patterns, refactoring and clean-code principles.
Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies.
Knowledge of security gateways and protocols, including JWT, OAuth 2.0 and SSL certificates.
Nice to Have:
Previous public-sector experience.
Experience working with established public-sector development standards and processes.
Experience developing Internet-ready applications.
Security Clearance
