Your Role
Akkodis, part of The Adecco Group, is a global leader in engineering and IT services, as well as a key player in the smart industry. Present in 30 countries, our 50,000 experts combine technological expertise with deep industry knowledge to build a more sustainable future, driven by a culture of inclusion and diversity.
Key responsibilities
Production planning and execution
- Plan and run the production schedule, so that robots and sub-assemblies are built on time, in the planned quantity and at the planned cost.
- Turn demand forecasts and customer orders into build plans, capacity plans and material requirements.
- Set up and run assembly, integration and end-of-line testing, and keep the work instructions current.
Supply chain and suppliers
- Work with Purchasing and Engineering to select, qualify and develop suppliers, including sub-suppliers where needed.
- Make sure suppliers meet our Quality Assurance Agreement: Production Process and Product Approval (PPA), incoming inspection, traceability, non-conformity handling (8D) and deviations.
- Manage inventory, delivery performance and shortages, and agree recovery plans with suppliers.
Quality
- Own the quality of what leaves the line: inspection plans, test coverage, first-pass yield, and handling of non-conformities.
- Run root-cause analysis and corrective actions, and make sure traceability is complete for every robot.
- Support compliance with applicable standards and legal requirements for the product (for example CE marking).
Engineering interface
- Be the production voice in design reviews, so that designs are buildable, testable and cost-effective.
- Manage engineering changes, so that every change reaches the line in a controlled way, with updated documents and trained people.
- Take new products from prototype to series production.
People and organisation
- Lead, develop and, where needed, hire the production team, including technicians, planners and shift leads.
- Create a culture of safety, quality ownership and continuous improvement.
- Make sure the team has the training and tools to do the work safely.
Facilities, safety and budget
- Own the production area and its layout, equipment, tooling and test stations, including moves between buildings.
- Ensure health and safety, ESD and cleanliness standards are met.
- Own the production budget and report on cost, output and quality using clear KPIs.
Continuous improvement
- Apply lean and data-driven methods to reduce lead time, rework and cost.
- Introduce automation and digital tools where they pay off, for example for tracking and test data.
- 8+ years in manufacturing or production, of which 3+ years leading a production team or function.
- Proven experience taking a complex electromechanical product from prototype to series production.
- Hands-on knowledge of production planning, supply chain and supplier quality methods, such as PPA (VDA Volume 2 or APQP), 8D problem solving and traceability.
- Experience with a quality management system, ideally ISO 9001.
- Track record in lean and continuous improvement, and in using KPIs to steer a team.
- Clear, direct communication with engineering, purchasing, quality and suppliers.
- Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, operations management or an equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.
