Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Incoming Quality (IQ) Inspector for a Contract job with a client in Middlefield, CT. The ideal candidate must have experience performing incoming inspection, dimensional inspection, and quality verification activities within a manufacturing environment.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $32/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Incoming Quality (IQ) Inspector job responsibilities include:

  • Perform incoming, receiving, and in-process inspections of mechanical, optical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.

  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and sampling methods.

  • Verify supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), test reports, certifications, and special process documentation.

  • Perform measurements using precision metrology equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, pin/plug gages, optical comparators, and related inspection tools.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, CAD models, and technical specifications to determine product acceptance.

  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and assist with quality investigations, nonconformance reviews, and corrective actions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience performing:

    • Incoming Inspection, Receiving Inspection, Supplier Quality Inspection, Dimensional Inspection, Quality Documentation Review.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Dimensional Metrology, Inspection Methodologies, Quality Control Processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret:

    • Engineering Drawings, CAD Models, Technical Specifications, Inspection Plans.

  • Proficiency using: Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Height Gages, Pin/Plug Gages, Multimeters, Optical Comparators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).

  • Experience creating or modifying CMM programs using: Zeiss Calypso, PC-DMIS,

  • Experience supporting: Aerospace Manufacturing, Medical Device Manufacturing, Optical Manufacturing, Precision Machining, Electromechanical Assembly.

  • Knowledge of: AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems

Pay Details: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
