Java Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL (Remote). The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices while ensuring high performance, reliability, and cloud-native deployment on Azure.

Rate Range: $41/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and enterprise applications using Java 21+ and Spring Boot.

• Build, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and microservices architectures to meet business and customer requirements.

• Develop and optimize SQL queries, database structures, and data models to ensure application performance and reliability.

• Deploy, monitor, and manage cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions and meet project timelines.

• Perform code reviews, implement automated testing, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps best practices.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience in Java backend development with a strong focus on enterprise application development.

• Hands-on expertise in Java (21+), Spring Boot, REST API development, microservices architecture, and SQL database design and optimization.

• Proven experience deploying and managing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), with exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Pay Details: $41.00 to $42.00 per hour
