Senior Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a Contract with a client in Raritan, NJ (Remote). The ideal candidate will be responsible for strengthening enterprise perimeter security by supporting cloud migration initiatives, optimizing firewall and access control policies, and implementing Zero Trust security practices across the network environment.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Security Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Support perimeter security hardening initiatives by reviewing, optimizing, and validating firewall, WAF, and access control policies across Palo Alto, Fortinet, and NetScaler environments.

• Assist with the migration of applications and sites from F5 to Cloudflare, including policy validation, testing, and deployment support.

• Implement and support Zero Trust security solutions through Zscaler, focusing on secure application onboarding, segmentation, and access management.

• Perform network automation, configuration management, and security patching activities to improve operational efficiency and maintain security compliance.

• Provide administration and troubleshooting support for Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux environments to ensure infrastructure stability and performance.

• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen security controls, resolve incidents, and support enterprise security transformation initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 6-8 years of experience in Network Security, Infrastructure Engineering, Security Operations, or Enterprise Network Administration.

• Strong hands-on experience with Cloudflare migrations, Zscaler Zero Trust deployments, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and NetScaler technologies, including firewall policy management, network security hardening, and secure application delivery.

• Proven expertise in network automation, security patch management, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux administration, with the ability to support large-scale security transformation and cloud migration initiatives.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
