Data Center Technician - Lab Operations

Modis is seeking a Data Center Technician - Lab Operations for a Contract with a client in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will support critical data center lab operations through hardware installation, rack-and-stack activities, inventory management, and equipment logistics.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $33/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Center Technician - Lab Operations Responsibilities include:

• Rack, stack, install, and remove servers, network switches, storage devices, and other data center hardware.

• Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking assets, serial numbers, locations, and equipment status.

• Receive, inspect, label, document, and process incoming and outgoing hardware shipments.

• Organize and maintain lab racks, workstations, storage areas, and cable infrastructure to ensure a safe and efficient environment.

• Assist with hardware deployments, equipment relocations, lab setups, and staging activities for engineering teams.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support lab operations, equipment management, and project deadlines.

 

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachel’s degree in information technology, Electronics, or a related technical field preferred.

• 1-3 years of experience in data center, lab operations, inventory management, or hardware deployment environments.

• Hands-on experience with racking and stacking servers, network switches, storage devices, and related data center equipment.

• Proficiency in inventory tracking, shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining accurate asset records using inventory management tools.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
