Data Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a Contract job with a client in St. Petersburg, FL (Remote). The ideal candidate must have strong experience in Java, Oracle, Application Development, and Data Engineering, along with expertise in designing scalable data solutions and enterprise applications.

Rate Range: $70/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that support enterprise data generation, collection, processing, and analytics initiatives.

• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to migrate, transform, and deploy data across multiple platforms and systems.

• Build and support applications using Java, Oracle, and Spring Boot technologies.

• Design and maintain robust data architectures that support evolving business needs and enterprise growth.

• Ensure data quality, reliability, integrity, and performance through effective engineering and governance practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources, technologies, and business requirements.

• Analyze complex data challenges and implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to team members while contributing to key technical decisions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience with:

  • Java Development

  • Oracle Technologies

  • Application Development

• Strong expertise in:

  • Data Engineering

  • Spring Boot

  • Data Pipeline Development

  • ETL/ELT Processes

  • Data Architecture

  • Data Integration

  • Enterprise Application Development

• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data and application solutions.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Anthropic Claude Code or AI-assisted development tools.

• Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Knowledge of Digital Banking platforms and financial services operations.

• Experience with cloud-based data architectures and modern engineering practices.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.

Pay Details: $70.00 to $75.00 per hour
