Database Administrator

Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Snowflake Cortex, SQL/Python, and Generative AI to implement RAG pipelines, optimize Cortex performance, and ensure governed, cost‑efficient AI-driven analytics.

Rate Range: $47/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Database Administrator job responsibilities include:

• Architect and implement Snowflake Cortex AI solutions, including RAG pipelines using Cortex Search and Cortex Analyst to enable natural language–to–SQL analytics.

• Develop and maintain semantic models (YAML) that translate business terminology into accurate, governed database queries.

• Administer and optimize the Snowflake platform—virtual warehouses, RBAC, Snowpipe, Streams & Tasks, and Data Sharing—ensuring performance and scalability.

• Optimize Cortex query performance and manage LLM credit consumption to balance cost and efficiency.

• Enforce data governance and security policies, including row-level security and masking, ensuring compliance and data privacy.

• Integrate Cortex APIs with enterprise tools (e.g., Streamlit, Power BI, Slack, Teams) and monitor system health for reliable, cost-effective operations.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

• 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake platform administration or data engineering, including at least 1 year working with Generative AI solutions.

• Proven expertise in Snowflake Cortex, including Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst, and AI functions, with strong SQL and Python (Snowpark) skills.

• Demonstrated experience in designing secure, governed data platforms with row-level security, masking policies, and performance/cost optimization in Snowflake.

Pay Details: $47.00 to $49.00 per hour
