    Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Irvine, CA(Remote). The candidate must have strong design engineering expertise with proven hands‑on experience in VMware Cloud on AWS, Arista/Cisco networking, and advanced routing protocols such as BGP.

    Rate Range: 38/hour to $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

    Design Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Leads Tier‑3 level troubleshooting, testing, and restoration activities for production services across complex server and network environments.

    • Manages OS administration tasks on Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms while supporting internetworking technologies and virtualization solutions.

    • Designs and validates network architectures involving Arista/CVP, Cisco platforms, and advanced routing protocols such as BGP.

    • Oversees VMware Cloud on AWS operations, contributing to performance analysis, service acceptance criteria, and new technology evaluations.

    • Supports SLA monitoring, capacity planning, and escalation handling to ensure service continuity and operational stability.

    • Collaborates with Tier‑2 teams by taking escalations during peak load, participating in customer status calls, and preparing technical communications.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

    • 4–6 years of hands‑on experience in design engineering, server administration, virtualization, and advanced networking.

    • Strong expertise with VMware Cloud on AWS along with VCP6+ certification and solid OS administration experience across Windows, UNIX, or Linux.

    • Proven hands‑on experience with Arista/CVP and Cisco networking technologies, including deep knowledge of BGP, routing, and switching.

    Pay Details: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour
