Design Engineer

Modis is seeking a Design Engineer for a Direct Hire with a client in Newington, NH. The ideal candidate will design and develop mechanical subsystems that support product performance, manufacturability, and reliability throughout the product lifecycle.

Salary Range: $85K/Yearly to $115K/Yearly; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Design Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop mechanical subsystems that meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost objectives.

• Create and review detailed engineering drawings using GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.

• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and engineering simulations to validate and optimize designs.

• Develop test plans, support prototype builds, analyze results, and drive root-cause investigations.

• Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and production efficiency.

• Manage engineering changes through PLM systems and provide technical support for manufacturing, suppliers, and quality initiatives.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• 3-6 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or an R&D environment.

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, assemblies, and engineering drawings.

• Hands-on experience with GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and tolerance stack-up analysis.

• Experience designing mechanical products or subsystems from concept through testing and production release.

• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools such as FEA, CFD, motion analysis, or thermal analysis, along with manufacturing processes and DFM principles.
