Durability Truck Technician

Akkodis is seeking a Durability Truck Technician for a Contract to Hire with a client in Mount Vernon, WA. The ideal candidate will prepare, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty diesel engines and vehicles to support testing activities while ensuring accurate documentation and operational readiness.

Rate Range: $38/hour to $43/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Durability Truck Technician Job Responsibilities include:

• Prepare heavy-duty diesel engines and vehicles for testing, including component replacement, setup, and installation of data acquisition and measurement equipment.

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines and vehicle systems to ensure reliable test operations.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to support testing activities and verify engine and vehicle performance against project requirements.

• Maintain accurate test records, service documentation, and detailed reports while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and testing efficiency.

• Work independently and as part of a team to meet changing project schedules, priorities, and testing demands while adhering to safety standards.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Diesel Power Technology, Technical Arts, Automotive/Diesel Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with heavy-duty diesel engines, vehicle systems, and engine testing environments.

• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair experience with diesel engines and vehicle systems, along with excellent mechanical aptitude.

• Proven ability to support engine and vehicle testing activities, maintain accurate documentation, work independently, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details: $38.00 to $43.00 per hour
