Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC / Atlanta, GA (Remote). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Palo Alto firewall infrastructure, implementing security policies, and securing enterprise network environments.

Rate Range: $64/Hour to $68/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Configure, deploy, and manage Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) to ensure secure and reliable network operations.

• Implement and maintain security policies, NAT, IPSec/SSL VPNs, and high-availability configurations across enterprise environments.

• Design, deploy, and support SSL/TLS decryption solutions, including certificate management, PKI administration, and encrypted traffic inspection.

• Administer Palo Alto security platforms such as Panorama, GlobalProtect, and WildFire, including upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity, firewall, security, and SSL decryption issues while ensuring compliance with organizational security standards.

• Perform firewall audits, rule optimization, threat prevention configuration, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen overall network security posture.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a STEM-related field.

• 7–10 years of experience in network security, firewall administration, and enterprise security operations.

• Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (PA Series, Panorama), Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologies, and IPS/IDS solutions.

• Proven expertise in SSL/TLS decryption, certificate management, PKI infrastructure, and secure network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and VPN technologies.

Pay Details: $64.00 to $68.00 per hour
