    Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco Nexus and Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls to troubleshoot complex routing, security, and Azure ExpressRoute connectivity issues.

    Rate Range: $54/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

    Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data center network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus switching, routing, and high‑availability architectures.

    • Manage and administer Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, overseeing security policies, NAT, VPN connectivity, and traffic inspection.

    • Configure and support hybrid connectivity between on‑premises environments and Microsoft Azure using ExpressRoute and VPN.

    • Troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and cloud connectivity issues impacting servers, applications, and database systems.

    • Monitor network performance and conduct routing validation, traffic path analysis, and root cause analysis to ensure uptime and stability.

    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including cloud, security, and infrastructure—to support enterprise IT operations and secure application traffic flows.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

    • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise networking, data center infrastructure, and hybrid cloud environments.

    • Strong expertise with Cisco Nexus switching, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

    • Proven experience managing Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, as well as configuring hybrid connectivity using Azure ExpressRoute.

    Pay Details: $54.00 to $60.00 per hour
