Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an Environmental Engineer for a Contract with a client in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting vehicle safety compliance, regulatory planning, and homologation activities to ensure products meet global market requirements and program milestones.

Rate Range: $38/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Environmental Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and interpret vehicle safety, regulatory, and homologation requirements for global markets to support product development and compliance initiatives.

  • Collaborate with engineering and program teams to ensure regulatory requirements are incorporated into vehicle design, development, and validation activities.

  • Develop and maintain compliance and homologation plans, supporting vehicle certification and approval processes throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Track regulatory deliverables, compliance documentation, testing activities, and program milestones while identifying and mitigating potential compliance risks.

  • Support compliance demonstration activities, risk assessments, and reporting processes to ensure successful product launches and ongoing regulatory adherence.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Engineering, Testing, and Program Management, to ensure timely completion of compliance and homologation objectives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • 1+ years of experience in Program Management, Product Development, Vehicle Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, or Automotive Engineering environments.

  • Knowledge of vehicle safety regulations and homologation requirements, including FMVSS, ECE, GCC, and other global automotive compliance standards, with experience supporting compliance planning and certification activities.

  • Strong program coordination, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to track compliance deliverables, support regulatory testing, and ensure timely achievement of vehicle development milestones.

Pay Details: $38.00 to $42.00 per hour
